IntroductionI have never been a huge reader or the type to read a book for fun and honestly I could not you when the last time I read a book was. But on the first day of this English class, Mr.Barker put a book on each of our desks and said that he wanted and recommended that we were always reading a book throughout the semester for our reading prompts and just in general, since it never hurts anyone to read. On my desk he had put the book "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" and immediately it drew my attention since it was probably about a murder mystery and something to do with criminology. I read the book blurb and decided I wanted to check it out and read it. A couple weeks later Mr.Barker introduced the Genius Hour Project and explained that we should start to brainstorm ideas for our projects. I was really confused on what I wanted to do but then the idea clicked into my head that I had really been enjoying reading this book and knew I had been thinking about other books that I eventually wanted to read. I realized that this project would be the perfect opportunity for me to read all these books that I had been thinking about and get a good project out of it. So I decided that this is what I would make my Genius Hour Project about and I would be able to challenge myself with reading and reviewing these books. My goal is to read six books and write a well-written review on each one while deciding if I recommend them to other readers in twelve weeks. I hope that I can meet my goal at the end of the twelve weeks and gain a stronger love for reading. A Good Girl's Guide to MurderThis is the title of the first book I am reading for my Genius Hour Project. I have been reading it slowly whenever I can in my free time and I am almost finished reading through it. I plan to be finished with it by the end of this upcoming week. So far this book has been very interesting since it is about a murder mystery and always makes you want to keep reading after every chapter.
